Document titled "Responsible Leadership for a Sustainable Future" is released following the G8 Summit 2009. Related to climate change, the leaders declare further commitment on lowering the emission of greenhouse gas to 80% in 2050. This cut is higher than 50% cut declared last year. However, this amount is viewed to be inadequate since this cut is long-term and disregard the need for immediate and drastic cut. Another problem posed is that the baseline is up to the respective countries and some countries, notably US, want current year to be used as the baseline.
